Martha Stewart At 1800flowers.com

Posted by: writerpurple15 on: November 2, 2009

My husband’s mom loves watching the Martha Stewart show and her products at Kmart. I knew the perfect gift for my mother-in-law’s birthday would be a gift basket from the Martha Stewart line at 1800flowers.com. There are many flower arrangements to choose from in the Martha Stewart line and my mother-in-law always enjoys a beautiful flower arrangement.

The Martha Stewart Sweet & Savory Snack Tray caught my eye when I looked at what was available at 1800flowers.com. My mother-in-law enjoys nuts, dried fruit and candy. Plus, we knew that she would use the woven rattan Nantucket basket tray many times with the holidays around the corner. We couldn’t decide on whether to get the Sweet & Savory Snack Tray or one of the many arrangements of flowers. After much thought, we decided to get the snack tray and the Martha Stewart Pumpkin Spice Wreath.

Colorado Avalanche Beat Detroit Red Wings

Posted by: writerpurple15 on: October 27, 2009

The Colorado Avalanche vs. Detroit Red Wings was an exciting game. Hockey is fast paced so the quarters go by quickly and keeps you on the edge of your seat. During the game, I tried to get a picture of the Avalanche making a goal, but I wasn’t successful. The Detroit Red Wings made the first goal of the night and Av fans were worried, but the Avalanche tied the score quickly. After the second goal was accomplished by the Avalanche, the fans went crazy cheering and hopeful that we would win the game. The ending score was 3-1.

game

There were many Detroit Red Wings fans attending the game at the Pepsi Center. My husband and I were surrounded by as many Red Wings fans as there were Avalanche fans. Despite the rivalry between the Avs and Red Wings, the fans were cordial to each other and my husband was talking to the Red Wings fans like they were old pals. One of the Red Wing players shoved our Avalanche goalie causing the game to stop. We weren’t sure if the goalie was going to be able to play, but he was able to continue and must have just had the wind knocked out of him. Avalanche fans were expecting a fight to breakout among the players, but the only reaction was the Red Wings player reprimanded to the penalty box.

Event Chaser snagged us tickets in the third tier, which is in the back of the arena. Despite being far from rinkside, we could see all the hockey action. There isn’t a bad seat in the Pepsi Center when attending a sporting event. Concerts are a different story. If you attend a concert at the Pepsi Center, you want to be on or near the floor and not sitting behind the stage. It is hard to hear the lead singer and the music drowns them out. During a sporing event, it’s easy to follow the hockey puck or basketball even in the nose bleed seats.

It was another exciting night with Razor Gator providing FREE tickets for my husband and I to watch the Colorado Avalanche in action!!

Colorado Avalanche

Thanks to Razor Gator, I will be snagging Colorado Avalanche tickets. They play the Detroit Red Wings in a couple of weeks. Hockey is a game that is exciting to watch, because you don’t know what mischief the players are going to get into. My husband was able to get hockey tickets many years ago through the company he worked for and it has been the only game we have seen. Our seats were way in the back, but we were able to see all the action and there were numerous fights during the game.

The Colorado Avalanche won that game we attended. It was the year that they went to the Stanley Cup and won!! I was able to watch Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Patrick Roy, and Adam Foote in action. It was a fun night and we have been wanting to go to another Avalanche game. After I told my husband that Event Chaser was going to send me Avalanche and Detroit Red Wing tickets, he was very excited to go to the game. I didn’t realize I chose a game that was an important one to watch. My husband explained to me that the Detroit Red Wings game is like the Colorado Rockies playing the Chicago Cubs. I understood why my husband was so excited, because baseball I’m more familiar with than hockey.

It will be a memorable night with the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center. Thank you, Razor Gator and Event Chaser.

Pour Some Sugar On Me Def Leppard

Def Leppard

The picture is a bit blurry, but onstage is Def Leppard and in the movie screen is Phil Collen cranking out tunes on his electric guitar. This was one awesome concert and I wanted more when it ended at 10:30 sharp! Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre are very picky about the length that bands perform. Despite the early ending, Def Leppard gave a spectacular performance. And I haven’t seen that many female breasts, since I was sixteen and at a Motley Crue concert. Joe Elliot, lead singer of Def Leppard, made a comment about the view from the stage. The cameras displayed the fun bags view many times on the movie screens off to the side of the stage.

We danced and sang every song that Def Leppard sang: Love Bites, Rock Rock Til You Drop, Photograph, Rock On, Let’s Get Rocked, Nine Lives, Animal, and many other hits. The crowd was not familiar with Def Leppard’s newest album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge, because when they played Nine Lives the crowd was pretty quiet. I was surprised and disappointed that more of the so-called “diehard” Def Leppard fans did not know this song, which is the most popular off their new album and was up for a Country Music Award and Country Music Television Award.

poison

Poison and Cheap Trick warmed us up before Def Leppard hit the stage. The crowd went nuts over Cheap Trick hits I Want You To Want Me and Surrender. Poison sang their hit songs Unskinny Bop, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, and Nothin But A Good Time. C.C. DeVille plays a mean guitar and Brett Michaels is just damn sexy. Brett gave props to all the men and women in the military. There was even a military guy on stage filming Poison as they performed.

Def Leppard announced that they would be back and I can’t wait to see them again!!

Trueblood

I am addicted to this show, which airs on HBO on Sunday nights. It’s season two and things are really getting interesting on Trueblood. Godric is an intriguing vampire. My first impression of him is that he’s more God-like than vampire. I’m wondering how he survives on very little blood these days. Is it because he’s 2000 years old? He makes the whole concept of vampires very accepting, because he’s against violence and wants to just live among humans.

This is how the vampires have lived in Season one and two. The humans seem to be much more violent than the vampires. Eric seemed to be evil, but in the second season I’m seeing a different side of Eric. Or maybe, Eric was always a good vampire and we are just seeing more of him in season 2. My question is how much does he love Sookie and will he ever have her romantically. Is that allowed since Bill the vampire has claimed the human?

Maryann is one evil thing. I’m not sure what she is, but one thing is for sure, Maryann is up to no good. She puts people in trances and makes them do very bad things. I am anxious to see what happens in the upcoming episodes and whether someone gets smart and just kills Maryann.

I was happy for Sam finding another shape shifter, but it was sad when the shape shifter ended up being under Maryann’s evil spell. Poor Sam, he has been all alone in his shape shifting life. Sookie found out Sam’s true identity, but Sookie is in love with Vampire Bill, so Sam is left with no one to love him. I am hoping that Sam finds someone in the following seasons.

One of these days, I hope to have the time to read the Charlaine Harris’ books, which Trueblood is based on. Books are better to read, because there is more detail to indulge in. However, the show Trueblood is very entertaining and keeps me on the edge of my seat!!

C’mon, C’mon Over To The Sparkle Lounge

Def Leppard will be jammin at Fiddler’s Green on August 24th in Englewood, Colorado. Poison and Cheap Trick are on tour with Def Leppard and this will be one FUN night with three awesome bands. I’m excited to get Def Leppard tickets, thanks to Razor Gator!! I’ve been a Def Leppard fan since they debuted in the 80’s among the many Big hair bands of this time, i.e., Motley Crue, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Knight Rider, Poison, etc.

My favorite Def Leppard songs are Animal, Rock of Ages, Photograph, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Hysteria, Bringin on the Heartbreak, and Women. From Def Leppard’s new album, Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, I can’t get enough of Nine Lives, Go, C’mon, C’mon and Gott’a Let it Go.

After I heard that Def Leppard was on tour, it was an immediate reaction that I had to get concert tickets. I saw them in concert back in the 80’s, but that was so long ago. The second time around will be so much better and this will be a memorable night.

I saw “The Ugly Truth” today and it was a fun, romantic comedy. It’s going to be a keeper when it comes out on DVD!

I think it’s summer here. I had to put on socks and a sweatshirt, brrr, I’m cold. The windows may have to be closed, too.
